Por qué debes de diseñar una red WISP como una intranet. Importancia de dividir la red en trozos

NOTA: Como de costumbre, voy actualizando el artículo dia por día no lo escribo de una sola sentá. Entra varias veces hasta que lo veas completado.

No estoy seguro cual es la clave del éxito de una red WISP pero la del fracaso es poner todo modo puente (bridge). Agarrar y conectar todos los clientes en el mismo segmento de red.

Si estas interesado en tener una red escalable olvidate del diseño BALANCEADOR-ADMINISTRADOR-SWICHE eso se usaba en la era mesozoica cuando fefita la grande nació.(solo dominicanos entenderán el chiste)

Antes de continuar voy a dejar mi teléfono abajo +1.809.980.1532 pero recuerda, no me llames para hacerme preguntas que están en la primera página de google. Te respondo cualquier cosa que tengas dudas pero necesito que:

      • No me saludes ni mes des los buenos días. Haz tu pregunta directa.
      • No seas un guebón preguntándome cosas que están en la primera página de google.

Seguimos. Por favor ya esto jarto… si Jarto con J. de tomarme con el mismo problema en todas las redes: congestión. Pero como no vas a estar congestionado hasta las pelotas si sigues cometiendo el mismo error que todo el mundo.

En esta imagen tenemos cómo no diseñar una red WISP.

Topología puente (bridge)

Parece que el que diseñó la primera red WISP le enseño a todos cómo no hacer una red WISP. Si me vas a llamar para decirme que «que el Internet está lento» procura haber leído este post.

¿Por qué no es el mejor diseño, por qué es una porquería? Pues porque mete a todos los clientes en un mismo segmento de red y por tanto todo el ruido leyer 2 es escuchado por todos los clientes a la vez.

En la imagen de aquí abajo vemos más o menos en qué consiste este diseño. Es lo peor que puedes implementar para tu red debido a los problemas futuros y los costos de operación.

Diseño básico de una red switcheada osea modo bridge

Enumeremos las ventajas/desventajas de trabajar de esta forma

Ventaja 1: Fácil de implementar y mantener. No vas a cojer lucha con configuraciones complicadas, protocolos de enrrutamiento ni nada que conlleve conocimientos intermedios.

Básicamente no vas a tener que pagarle a nadie para configurarla

Basta con aplicar par de NATs y asignar IPs y listo. Para acceder a los clientes basta con escanear el el switch con el winbox o ubnt discovery y tendrás acceso en leyer 2 de todos tus equipos. «una chulería».

Si tienes alguna otra ventaja mándamela.

Desventaja 1: Costo. Las desventajas son muchas tantas que no sé por donde empezar pero vamos a mencionar la que sé que es la que más te va a importar. Te sale más caro trabajar con este diseño.

También te obliga a trabajar con switches administrables los cuales son más costosos para poder usar VLANS y manejar la congestión que llegará cuando tu red crezca.

Y tu mucha paciencia para soportar los morosos.

Desventaja  2: Es mucho más complicado manejar la congestión. Como todo el tráfico pasa por los mismos equipos y las tareas están concentradas en 3 puntos (balancer, admin y swiche) estos tienen que tener mucha potencia para poder soportar todos tus clientes.

Un clientes jodiendo con alguna aplicación extraña y todos salen afectados.

Desventaja 3: Una red menos escalable. No vas a poder meterle 5 torres con 80 clientes cada una en el mismo switche al menos que te pongas a hacer vlans y dividir el swiche en pedazos pero esto plantea problemas.

Topología enrutada (modo router)

Este es el diseño que recomiendo para las redes WISP y básicamente es una copia de una intranet de una compañía cualquiera. Esta forma de diseño la saqué de un foro CISCO.

Como puedes ver en la imagen de aquí arriba todas las sectoriales están modo router, un router por cada torre (importante) y usando swiches sencillos para manejar las sectoriales (tplink de $350 pesos).

Si voy a enviar internet para otra zona no uso el swiche si no otra interfaz con otro segmento de red. Como cada sectorial está modo router cada una tiene 2 segmentos y una separación en la WLAN sin bridge.

Cada punto a punto tiene su segmento separado. Cada sectorial llevaría 2 segmentos uno para ella alimentarse y otro para sus clientes conectados a la WLAN.

Aquí tenemos un pequeño problema ya que las sectoriales ubnt no hablan ni siquiera RIP. Esta solución la publicaré más adelante.

El cpe también va modo router y solo el router wifi yo personalmente lo coloco modo puente para poder entrar aunque el ciente lo resetee. También con esta medida de los routeres WIFI elimino un nat.

Corro RIP en todas las sectoriales y OSPF entre los routeres que manejan cada torre. Con RIP no uso casi CPU y y los CPE que manejan varios clientes usando poe reverso manejo rutas estáticas agregadas a las sectoriales.

Como uso una interfaz para manejar todas las sectoriales de una torre esto me ahorra interfaces las cuales estarán disponibles para enviar o recibir internet desde otras zonas o bien para desplegar cableado.

Costo de implementación red enrrutada (en routing y switching)

Como se puede apreciar aquí abajo el costo de instalar una red enrrutada es mucho menor. En este sencillo caso que he presentado sale casi 900 dólares menos.

En la parte superior de la imagen se puede ver que pongo las sectoriales modo router para manejarlas todas con un solo puerto del mk

Este dinero bien se puede destinar a montar clientes o a tu propia preparación técnica. En cualquiera de los casos es un dinero que vas a aprovechar el cual no tendrás que invertirlo en el core.

También ante cualquier avería es más fácil reponer los equipos dañados y de mantener en almacén debido a su costo inferior en caso de que sea una red swicheada.

    • eso va a depender de la cantidad de redes que manejes y cuantas sectoriales hay en cada una. Yo lo hago así para simplificarme el trabajo.

    acaso controlas las velocidades directamente desde los CPE´s,
    de ser así que función cumple el mikrotik? balancer?

    • puedes hacerlo en el router adyacente mas próximo en caso que uses otra marca que no sea mikrotik ya que las ip de los clientes llegan a todas partes por estar todo enrrutado mediante un protocolo de tu preferencia. Sin embargo lo ideal es hacerlo en el CPE y si usas mikrotik se te facilita mucho el trabajo. En este esquema el administrador y el balanceador ya no son necesarios.

    • Con el protocolo ospf lo puedes hacer ya que menciono 3 router 750 igs creo que esos serian los que harán el control de ancho de banda
